A long road tells the story of Mumbai 197 1 year in India. Gustad, a bank clerk, received a letter from an old friend asking him to take a package from a newsstand in Hall flea market and follow the instructions on the note in the bag.

Rosington Mistry, a Canadian writer, was born in Mumbai, India and immigrated to Canada from 65438 to 0975. His works depict different aspects of India's social and economic life, as well as the life, customs and religion of Indian Parsis, and are full of nostalgia for India.

His second novel The Long Road (199 1) won the Canadian Governor-General's Literature Award that year. His third novel The Balance of Justice (1995) won the Giles Prize, the Los Angeles Times Book Award and the Commonwealth Writers Award, and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize with 1996.
