Where does the excavation of Qinzhou Canal pass?

The overall route of Qinzhou Canal excavation is divided into four sections. Shaping reach, water diversion section, main stream section of Qinjiang River and estuary section pass through Qinzhou Lingshan, Qingtang, Pingji, Jiulong and Shajing Port. The total planned length of the canal is about 140 km. The line starts from Pingtang estuary in the reservoir area of Hengzhou Xijin Water Control Project in Nanning, crosses the watershed of Shaping River and Jiuzhou River, a tributary of Qinjiang River, and enters the waters of Qinzhou Port in Beibu Gulf along the main stream through the land house.

Overview of Qinzhou Canal

The Qinzhou Canal starts from the Pingtang River mouth in the reservoir area of Xijin Hydropower Station in Hengzhou City, passes through Luwu Town of Lingshan, and then reaches the sea area of Qinzhou Port in Beibu Gulf, with a total length of about 133 km. With a total investment of 68.7 billion yuan, the Pinglu Canal is expected to open to traffic in 2029. After the Pinglu Canal is completed, Qinzhou will have not only sea freight, but also railway and road freight, which will form a three-dimensional and diversified freight mode.

The Qinzhou area through which Pinglu Canal passes is shaping town Luwu Town in Lingshan, jiulong town and Jianshan Town in Qinnan District. Shajing Port is the estuary of Qinjiang River and a coastal canal connecting Qinjiang River with the sea. Pinglu Canal is the main channel connecting Xijiang shipping trunk line and Beibu Gulf, which will shorten the sea mileage and reduce transportation costs. After the completion of Pinglu Canal, the mileage from Nanning to Qinzhou Port via Pinglu Canal is only 29 1km.
