The descendants of Hongwu immigrants in Suzhou can't speak Wu.

The Ming Dynasty spoke Nanjing dialect, not Wu dialect. After Zhu Yuanzhang established Nanjing as the capital, he forced Nanjing people who used to speak Wu to defend the border and Yunnan. Most of the Ministry officials who followed Zhu Yuanzhang came from Fengyang, Anhui Province. These people and their families moved to Nanjing and changed their Nanjing accent (Wu dialect became Jianghuai dialect). After the coup, Judy moved to Beijing and brought Mandarin with Jianghuai accent to Beijing.

After the Manchu entered the customs, the northern mandarin has been spread to the present Beijing dialect (Manchu accent is serious).

In the Song Dynasty, it was very close to quaint ci. During the Northern and Southern Song Dynasties, a large number of Central Plains immigrants went south to Guangdong/Fujian/Jiangxi. The number and scale are the highest in history, surpassing the Five Chaos in China when the Han people in the Central Plains "overrun the whole country". Now Hakka people are descendants of these immigrants, and Hakka dialect and Cantonese, especially in Song Dynasty, are the closest (equivalent to the relationship between Beijing dialect and Mandarin).

The Mongolian Yuan Dynasty was the worst dynasty established by all ethnic groups in China's history, and divided people into four classes: Mongolian Tatars were the first class, Semu people (from the Western Regions, Persia and Arabs) were the second class, Han people (from the Northern Jin Dynasty) were the third class, and southerners (from the Southern Song Dynasty) were the fourth class. The Han people in the Central Plains and Jianghuai areas were almost slaughtered (more than 100 million Han people were slaughtered), which led to the disappearance of the elegant words in the north. The official language is Mongolian. Now Mongolian is still only used in Inner Mongolia (coexisting with Chinese), while Outer Mongolia is a variant of Slavic (retribution).
