Overview of Danxi Town

A town under the jurisdiction of Yueqing City. It is located in the middle of the city, adjacent to Hongqiao Town in the east, Shifan Street in the south, Furong Town in the north, and Yongjia County in the west. Area is 85.6 square kilometers. The registered population is 42,409 and the migrant population is 12,353 (2012). There are six new rural communities: Hubian, Xibei, Xinan, Dongyang, Sidu and Zuoyuan, with jurisdiction over one residential area and 43 administrative villages. The town government is located at No. 1, Fukang West Road. The Ningbo-Taiwan-Wenzhou Railway transits the border. Historic sites include Shouchang Temple in Huangtang Village. The tomb of Wang Shipeng, the champion of the Southern Song Dynasty, at the foot of Niutang Mountain is a key cultural relic protection unit in Zhejiang Province. There are many ancient buildings from the Qing Dynasty in Huangtang, Jiang'ao and other villages. In particular, Huangtang Village contains eight well-protected ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
