Luodai Ancient Town, located in Longquanyi District, Chengdu, is different from the ordinary ancient towns in western Sichuan and has a unique Hakka style and culture.

Luodai Town in Sichuan Province is also a gathering place for Hakkas in the west. Most of them are Hakkas who migrated from Meizhou before the Qing Dynasty, and they still retain the original Hakka heritage. They came to the ancient town of Luodai thousands of miles away to go to the market. This is the place where Hakka ancestors migrated and settled, and even preserved many original Hakka elements! I also met many Meizhou villagers who moved here hundreds of years ago. Amazingly, I can also communicate in Hakka. You should know that Hakka dialect is passed down from generation to generation, word of mouth, and there is no written record. It is rare that these two languages have been so similar for hundreds of years.

The antique streets are still simple and cordial, and it is very comfortable to walk on the stone road by the spring. Some old people in the alley are chatting in Hakka dialect, and they feel so kind.

Hakka culture is a part of China culture and a representative of China's excellent traditional culture. Hakka dialect, Hakka customs, living habits, Hakka character, temperament, mentality, thoughts, concepts, consciousness and their carriers: Hakka architecture, decoration, Hakka women's clothing, artworks, Hakka literature and art, etc.

Hakka culture is rooted in Heluo culture. Hakka people not only inherited the essence of ancient culture in the Central Plains, but also created and enriched it in the new environment, thus forming a new culture with its own characteristics-Hakka culture.

Hakkas love singing, and like many nations who take singing as a part of their lives, they live in the ocean of singing. Hakka folk songs have their own unique Hakka cultural connotation, and Hakka people are used to singing their own life and culture into folk songs. It connects the feelings of Hakka people all over the world with its unique regional culture and dialect characteristics. As the saying goes, where there are grandchildren, there are Hakka, and where there are Hakka, there are Hakka folk songs.

Culture is the blood and soul of a city, and it is the link to inherit the past, present and future. It still carries the Hakka people's memory of their ancestors, their recognition and confidence in their own culture.

I saw an old man from Hakka Plain at the stall selling fried chopsticks. The old man and their relatives have always wanted to return to their ancestral home. When they heard that I came from the plain, they held my hand tightly, just like seeing relatives. I feel a little choked up at this time. I know I can only express my feelings by singing, bow my head and adjust my mood. Then I hummed "I am a Hakka" in Hakka dialect, and the scene was surrounded.

After singing, I really felt that the charm of Hakka folk songs as a Hakka culture deeply infected them. Seeing that they are all in meditation, some people's eyes are moist. That kind of grief, that kind of homesickness. There are even two or three old people secretly wiping their eyes. I didn't sing very well at that time, but I was sincere. From the heart, you can touch people's hearts.

Luodai is a place where Hakka people live in Dongshan, Chengdu. The migration movement in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and the filling of Sichuan with Huguang made many Hakkas from foreign lands take root and settle here. Of the more than 20,000 residents living in the town today, more than 90% are Hakkas and follow Hakka customs.

The ancient town of Luodai, in the name of "the last Hakka kingdom in the inland of China", has inherited Hakka culture from generation to generation, connecting the blood of Hakka in the world. Hakka love is still stronger than Jin Jian after thousands of years of rotation, and its unique culture that makes the world admire is like a charming song.

On September 30th this year, the long-awaited first Luodai Hakka Culture Festival will open a colorful curtain in Luodai Hakka Wai Building. By then, Luodai will create a magnificent Hakka cultural show for people with unprecedented scale, high quality and innovative spirit, reproduce the unique charm of Hakka, ignite the enthusiasm of Hakka culture in Chengdu and set off a new wave of Hakka legends.
