3. Chinese citizens who have settled abroad and have lost their passports after returning home for a short period of time and apply for a replacement should provide relevant information that can prove their identity and go to the nearest exit and entry management department of the public security bureau at or above the prefecture level or the provincial public security department. Apply for reissue at the Immigration and Entry Administration. To apply for a replacement of a lost passport, you do not need to submit a report of loss or a declaration of loss in a newspaper.
