Students from the University of Thailand tell you a real study in Malaysia.

Four years ago, I left Beijing to join the flow of people studying in Malaysia. My destination is Subangyong, which is about 4000 kilometers away from China. Fortunately, at that time, under the guidance of the consultant of Malaysia Oriental Students Study Abroad Co., Ltd., I came to Tailai University without spending a penny on the agency fee. Accompanied by Liu Wei and Martin, the logistics service leaders of Malaysia Oriental Students Study Abroad Co., Ltd., I quickly became familiar with life in Malaysia. Looking at my study life in Malaysia, I can sum it up in four words: study, environment, emotion and disappointment. The SEED (meaning of seed) composed of the first letters of these four words is exactly my current state. Here, I would like to thank the teachers who have helped me-the ancestors of Malaysia-Mr. Liu Wei and Mr. Yilan of the International Language Center.

I use four simple words to describe my views on studying in Malaysia and see if I can help new students.

Although Malaysia is not a very developed country, it can be considered as studying abroad after all. Learning is naturally the most important part of daily life. Generally speaking, most Malaysian China students study in some private universities. Most of these institutions cooperate with universities in third countries, such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States. Schools can obtain relevant credits or diplomas to attract local and overseas students, exempt or reduce visa fees, and directly obtain diplomas from third-country universities in Malaysia. The courses that China students in these institutions need to complete are often divided into three parts, the first part is English intensive, the second part is the basic course of university, that is, college preparatory course, and the third part is a regular university or college course. The teaching methods adopted in Malaysian universities are slightly different from those in China. Every week, four to six class hours are arranged for each subject, each class hour is one hour, of which 50% is taught by teachers and 50% is practiced by students in class. As long as the English foundation is good, the average China student will not have much problem. However, in recent years, students studying in Malaysia are generally young, and some students have left their parents before completing high school courses, which has brought great inconvenience to the study of university courses and the failure of exams. They had to retake the failed subjects, which virtually extended the study time and increased the financial burden of their families. Give advice to those freshmen. If they are not conscious enough, they might as well not study abroad. Generally, good universities have to go to college preparatory courses.

If the results are not good enough, it is suggested to choose a medium school, such as Indy University, Taylor University, Sitia University, Asia-Pacific University of Science and Technology, Lin Guorong University of Creative Technology, etc.

environment

As we all know, Malaysia is a tropical country, and its climate is similar to that of southern China, such as Hainan Province. Many students from the north of China are not adapted to the local climate and water sources when they first arrive here. Malaysia is made up of many ethnic groups, among which Malays, Indians and Chinese are the majority. Fortunately, there are a large number of China people here, and China students can eat Chinese food all over Malaysia. But it is close to the equator, so many common vegetables and fruits in China can't be planted, and all kinds of snacks and even special fruits in this area are rich in calories. Perhaps because of this, most China female students studying in Malaysia are generally doomed to gain weight due to lack of exercise and long-term intake of high-calorie food. The common languages in Malaysia are Malay and English. Almost all Malaysian citizens are proficient in Malay and the popularity of English is quite high. Chinese people generally master Malay, English and Chinese (including Cantonese, Minnan and other dialects). Due to geographical reasons, the English and Mandarin of local Chinese are generally nonstandard, with a strong local accent. Students in China generally have no language barriers, because there are a large number of China people living here. Of course, at the same time, the improvement of English level has been greatly delayed. We are in Subang ss 15, which is a local food gathering place. So we often have dinner with some foreign students in the middle of the night and practice our spoken English. This is also a kind of fun. As the office of Malaysia Oriental Students Study Abroad Co., Ltd. is also in SS 15, we often get together in their office. Their office has also become a gathering place for our entertainment on Saturday and Sunday.

mood

In the process of studying and living for international students, the motherland is always proud of it.

I remember the Asian Cup the year before last, and before the opening of this year's Olympic Games, when the Olympic flame came to Kuala Lumpur, students often spontaneously asked foreign students in China to download the MP3 national anthem from the Internet and then play it together at the same time, so that the national anthem would resound throughout the school. Although this is only a beautiful idea, the sincerity of overseas students to the motherland can be seen. In addition to patriotism, it is homesickness. During the traditional festivals in China, China students with mobile phones can be seen everywhere on campus, and various dialects are intertwined, which is really interesting. Because Malaysia is not far from China, and regular return flights from Malaysia to major cities in China are not too expensive, most international students have the experience of going home for a holiday during their study abroad. It is these short time to return home that makes most students miss their families more and can't study with peace of mind. Someone lamented: "If you study in the United States, Canada or Europe, you are too far away from home and lifeless, and you won't often think about going home. And we, not far from home, don't go home, our hearts itch; When I got home, I couldn't get my heart back. Dilemma, dilemma! " Malaysia now allows international students to work after school, but it is very cheap, only about RM 5 an hour, so international students have a lot of leisure time. In addition, some foreign students' colleges and universities in China are located in remote towns and villages, and their spiritual life is extremely unsatisfied, so it is very common for students to fall in love. Many new international students from China are looking for friends at school and will get married soon. This phenomenon not only worries parents who are thousands of miles away, but also makes the surrounding students secretly wonder: how can these relationships abroad be maintained after returning home?

displacement

Malaysian economic and cultural development can't compare with the rapid development of China. Overseas students from China and other big cities are somewhat disappointed with Malaysia, which is also a developing country, because they don't know much about Malaysia. Students in other small and medium-sized cities sometimes have similar feelings when talking about Malaysia. There are even a few new students. Not long after they got off the plane, they saw or heard something unsatisfactory, so they packed up and left. Malaysia is a non-immigrant country, and even if it marries with local people, it is difficult to obtain local residency. Almost none of the China students who come here to study abroad have wild desires to emigrate, and most of them say that they will return to China immediately after their studies.
