Tuvalu is located between 5 39' ~10 45' south latitude and176 09' ~179 51'east longitude, in the western Pacific Ocean, southeast of Marshall Islands and west of international date line. Fiji in the south, Kiribati in the north and Solomon Islands in the west. It consists of nine atolls, eight of which are inhabited, and the vertical height does not exceed 5 meters above sea level.

The Governor is appointed by the Queen of England on the recommendation of the Prime Minister.
The Constitution stipulates that Tuvalu is a democratic and sovereign country. The Constitution is supreme and protects the basic rights and freedoms of citizens.
