Cantonese-speaking places in ancient China

In ancient China, Nanyue spoke Cantonese.

Nanyue State, also known as Nanyue State (Cantonese spelling: Naam4-jyut6-gwok3), is a political power located in Lingnan area of China. At the end of the Qin Dynasty (207 BC), Zhao Tuo, the captain of Nanhai County, closed the road when Qin died. Three years later, Guilin and Xiang Jun counties in Lingnan were merged.

In 204 BC, Nanyue State was formally established, with the title of "King of Nanyue" and its capital located in Panyu.
