How many types of IELTS are there?

There are three types of IELTS.

1, IELTS test type

(1) General IELTS Test

IELTS is divided into academic (A) and training (G). Both tests include listening, reading, writing and speaking. The listening and speaking questions in Class A and Class G are the same, but reading and writing are different.

Class A: It is suitable for undergraduate, graduate or above studying abroad, and it is necessary to provide Class A IELTS scores for studying in the UK. G: For non-academic purposes, such as going to the UK for work or training or non-diploma courses, immigrants can provide G scores as required.

2. UK Visa and Immigration IELTS (UKVI)

The IELTS test for British visas and immigrants aims to meet the special examination requirements of the UK Visa and Immigration Service (UKVI). The content, form, difficulty, examiner and grading standard of the test are the same as those of the existing IELTS test.

3. IELTS Life and Skills

This test measures the oral English and listening ability of candidates, and it is divided into CEFR (European Common Language Reference Framework) A 1 and B 1. The examination aims to meet the requirements of the UK Visa and Immigration Service (UKVI) for specific UK visa applications. CEFR standard is used internationally to measure the language proficiency of language learners.

A 1 level, applicable to: spouse, visa application for visiting relatives, and the difficulty is equivalent to English introduction 1 level defined in NQF. B 1 level: used to apply for naturalization and permanent British visa. The difficulty is equivalent to the third level of english introduction defined by National Qualification Framework (NQF).

College students should meet the following requirements when taking the IELTS test:

Students who need 18 years of age or older and 18 years of age or younger need their guardians to help them complete the guardian clause confirmation and the statement on the protection of minors when they register for the IELTS test.

2. Document requirements

In China, you can take the IELTS test in China as long as you can provide valid ID cards (including compatriots from Chinese mainland, Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan Province) and passports.
