Is Minnan related to Vietnam?

Vietnamese sounds similar to Minnan, but it is not Minnan. The main language of Vietnam is Vietnamese, and even some people who speak Minnan are almost all from Fujian Province of China, that is, overseas Chinese living in Vietnam. Overseas Chinese living in Vietnam are mainly distributed in Ho Chi Minh City in the south and Hanoi in the north.

Minnan dialect originated in the Luoshui Valley of the Yellow River, moved to southern Fujian in the Western Jin, Tang and Northern Song Dynasties, and originated in Quanzhou, Fujian. There are more than 70 million people who use Minnan dialect in the world, and now they are mainly distributed in southern Fujian, Taiwan Province Province of China, northeastern Fujian, southeastern Zhejiang, Chaoshan (Jieyang, Shantou and Chaozhou), Hailufeng and western Guangdong (Zhanjiang and Maoming).
