Several Sources of Zhangzhou Dialect

Zhangzhou dialect is a Minnan dialect in Zhangzhou area. Most of the Zhangzhang soldiers led by Saint Chen Yuanguang came from Heluo Gushi, and they used Heluo dialect in the Central Plains, also known as Heluo dialect. The descendants of Central Plains soldiers who guarded Fujian and Guangdong in the early days also called themselves "He Lao". Heluo dialect has gradually become a popular discourse in southern Fujian.

Some scholars also cite a large number of ancient poems as examples: the word "if" in Minnan dialect is called "setting an envoy", and Cao Cao's "Zi Ming Ben Ling Zhi" has "setting up the world without loneliness"; In Minnan dialect, "good momentum" means good. Jiang Yan's preface to Yunshan says: "The miscellaneous paintings on the wall are all good landscapes"; In Minnan dialect, fees and travel expenses are called "fees", and Shi Shuo says: "fees are really small"; Walking in Minnan dialect is called "stepping chariot", which is Zhongzhou dialect in Tang Dynasty. Tang Yulin said, "Let the left and right sides call it a step chariot"; "Big man" means tall and grown up in Minnan dialect. Du Xunhe said, "I don't feel like a big shot wrapped in my head. Last night, the bamboo horse was the son. " In Minnan dialect, reading is called "reading", and in the Book of the Tang Dynasty, it is said that "the Chinese book orders reading" … and so on. We can find words or vocabularies in these Minnan dialects commonly used in the Han and Tang Dynasties.

As many descendants of Zhang Kaibing moved out of southern Fujian, Heluo dialect (that is, Minnan dialect) became a group symbol in the southern part of the Central Plains-those who moved to Guangdong in the early stage were called Heluo dialect or Fulao dialect or Fujian dialect; Later, those who moved to Taiwan Province Province were called "Minnan dialect" or "Taiwan dialect", while those who spread to Southeast Asia and overseas were called "Tangren dialect" or Fujian dialect. Tracing back to the source, whether it is Minnan dialect, Heluo dialect, Fulao dialect, Taiwanese dialect or Tang dialect, it is the same strain as Zhongyuan dialect and Heluo dialect.

With the migration of Zhangzhou immigrants from southern Fujian spreading to Taiwan Province Province and Southeast Asia, Minnan dialect has become the most important language for Chinese communities in Taiwan Province Province and Southeast Asia. They all speak Minnan dialect, and most of them speak Minnan dialect close to Zhangzhou dialect. They still maintain the Heluo dialect handed down from generation to generation since Zhangzhou opened in the early Tang Dynasty, and most of them are proud of "Heluo people" or "Tang people".
