Brief introduction of Belarus

Distribution area

Most Belarusians first came to southern Russia and Ukraine, and then to Turkey and Slavic countries in Eastern Europe, such as the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia and Poland. Another large number of people moved to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Persia, Germany and France. There are large Belarusian-Russian clusters in Berlin and Paris.

Most government and military officials and those who fought against the Red Army in Siberia and the Far East often emigrated with their families to Harbin, Shanghai and other cities in China, and also gathered in Central Asia and western China. After the US and Japan withdrew from Siberia, some people immigrated to Japan.

During and after World War II, many Belarusians immigrated to Britain, the United States, Canada, Peru, Brazil, Argentina and Australia. Today, there are still Belarusian immigrant communities in these places, which have a certain influence in the local area.
