Historical evolution of Jieyang

Jieyang is an ancient city in eastern Guangdong, a famous historical and cultural city in Guangdong Province, and one of the oldest counties in Guangdong Province. It has a long history of more than 2,200 years. Rongjiang Valley in China was once the regional center of ancient eastern Guangdong and southern Fujian, and the birthplace of Chaoshan culture.

During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it belonged to Baiyue.

In the thirty-third year of Qin Shihuang (2 14 BC), he sent troops to Yao and Zhao Tuo, captured Lvliang, set up Guilin, Elephant and Nanhai counties, and sent troops to defend Wuling.

Nanhai county governs Jieyang and other six counties.

Jieyang County is named after Jieyang Ridge.

In the sixth year of Emperor Gaozu Ding Yuan (1 1 1), Jieyang County was established to govern Chaoshan, Xingmei, Longxi and Zhangpu in southern Fujian.

In the ninth year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 33 1 year), it was divided into Dongguan County, Nanhai County, and Jieyang belonged to it.

In the ninth year of Yi Dynasty (AD 4 13), the Eastern Jin Dynasty was divided into Dongguan County, and the former Jieyang County was established as Yi 'an County.

It governs Haiyang (now Jieyang County), Chaoyang, Sui 'an, Haining and Zhao Yi.

After several recycling, Jieyang County was established in Shaoxing ten years in the Northern Song Dynasty (1 140).

At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, hundreds of thousands of Fujian Putian people migrated to Chaoshan because they fled the war.

Jieyang in Ming Dynasty belonged to Chaozhou Prefecture.

Jieyang in the Qing Dynasty belonged to Chaozhou Prefecture, and it was a fashionable place.

After the founding of New China, Jieyang County successively belonged to Chaoshan District, Yuedong Administrative District, Shantou City and Shantou City.

1965 19 In July, Jieyang County of Shantou Special Zone designated Northwest 13 commune (town), and Lu Fengxian designated two communes to establish Jiexi County.

Jiexi got its name because most of the land in the county belongs to the west of Jieyang County, and the county is located in Hepo Town, which is under the jurisdiction of Shantou City.

1975 Three brigades, namely Gongshan, Huxi and Sixiang, were transferred from Puning County, which were under the jurisdiction of Jiexi County and Shantou area.

199 1 year 12.7 the State Council (Guo Han [1991] No.84) approved the cancellation of Jieyang County and the establishment of a prefecture-level Jieyang City, with Jiexi County under the jurisdiction of Jieyang City.

Jiedong County was established in the former Jieyang County 15 Town, and was named Jiedong because most of the county seat was located in the eastern part of the former Jieyang County. The county seat is located in Quxi Sub-district Office and belongs to Jieyang City.

20 12 12 the State Council approved the establishment of Jiedong District of Jieyang City, which was officially opened for business on March 2, 20 13, and the people in the area lived in Quxi Street.

Jieyang City now administers Rongcheng District, Jiedong District, Jiexi County and Huilai County, and manages Puning City (county-level city).
