She said that she was destined to stay in Shenzhen. It can be said that at that time, it was not Bei Xiaojin who chose Shenzhen, but Shenzhen who chose her. She stayed in Shenzhen because of a bottle of water.

Before coming to Shenzhen, Bei Xiaojin taught China ancient literature in a university in Hunan. Because she wants to collect materials, make CDs for poor college students for free, and send them overseas to get subsidies, she often goes to Hong Kong through Shenzhen. On that occasion, after finishing her work in Hong Kong, she checked into a hotel as usual. Writing in the middle of the night, she felt a little thirsty, so she picked up a bottle of mineral water on the table, drank it and fell asleep. Who knows that this bottle of water almost killed her. In desperation, Bei Xiaojin picked up his mobile phone and asked his family for help, and was finally taken to the hospital. Hotels and waterworks shirked their responsibilities, except to accompany them to the hospital a few days ago, and then nothing happened. However, Bei Xiaojin will stay here for two months, and tears will come out every time he draws blood. She wrote in her diary: "It was already late at night, and my chest was even more suffocating. I rushed out clutching my chest. I'm afraid I can't breathe if I walk slowly. Pain, high blood pressure and fever alternate constantly, and the hot forehead makes me dizzy! " A Dream of Red Mansions is a literary work that Bei Xiaojin liked since she was a child, but she didn't expect that one day, she would become Lin Daiyu in it and feel sorry for herself in Shenzhen.

In order to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Bei Xiaojin, some caring overseas Chinese took up legal weapons and prepared to go to court with the hotel. But the hotel manager found Bei Xiaojin with three children, knelt on the ground and said he was the father of three children. If this is the case, then he will leave the city where he has worked hard for twenty years. Because of the pleading of the hotel manager, Bei Xiaojin suddenly felt unbearable and gave up the lawsuit and compensation. Unlike many people who pursue their youthful dreams, it is more like a helplessness for her to stay in Shenzhen. However, with the gradual recovery of health, Bei Xiaojin began to integrate into Shenzhen. 20 10 12, she wore a pink dress with Jiangnan characteristics and walked into the venue with the beautiful music of peach blossom ballads at the literary evening to celebrate the establishment of the Shenzhen New Fourth Army Research Association. Bei Xiaojin likes music since he was a child. She is at home in Shenzhen, a city with a strong cultural atmosphere. Since then, Bei Xiaojin has often traveled from Shenzhen to Huizhou, Huiyang, Hong Kong and other places to interview veterans of Shenzhen's War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, veterans of Dongzong, old experts and teachers. So she couldn't help composing music for this poem.

In the future, Bei Xiaojin sang the song "I want to fly" on various occasions, constantly improving and adding the English word "I want to fly"-Iwanto fly! It is precisely because of this song that Bei Xiaojin really began to enter the youth workers, driving from Luohu to Baoan, Longgang and other places for dozens of times in a row to participate in the cultural activities of the youth workers. Bei Xiaojin said that "I Want to Fly" sang the voices of people in this immigrant city. People have embarked on a long journey because of dreams or various reasons, but in a foreign land, they are faced with the pressure of survival and various difficulties. Knowing this, many students came to Shenzhen to take refuge in her, and Bei Xiaojin provided them with free accommodation until they found jobs. Bei Xiaojin's parents have passed away. In Shenzhen, she became the baby of Bei family and was loved by her relatives, but she often felt lonely and helpless in a foreign land. She likes the cultural atmosphere in Shenzhen. She gave the song "I want to fly" to Shenzhen Young Industrial Workers Writers Association, hoping to lead everyone in Shenzhen to pursue their ideals.

DreamOn is one of Bei Xiaojin's favorite songs when he first came to Shenzhen. "The past has passed, just like the passing of the morning and evening. The first half of my life has been written on paper, and living is to learn from fools or sages. Sing with me and sing for the years! Sing for laughter and tears! Everything goes with the wind! " She seems to be mentioned in the lyrics. In 2008, Bei Xiaojin was diagnosed with a myocardial tumor, and the doctor said that her condition would deteriorate at any time. In these years, Bei Xiaojin has been saved twice. She has a calm attitude towards death. She believes that life is alive and must live in the present.
