Can Han people be changed into Hui people?

Han nationality can change to Hui nationality.

1. Go to the local ethnic affairs committee to issue a national identity certificate;

2. Bring the national identity certificate to the household registration department of the public security bureau where the household registration is located to apply for changing the ethnic composition;

3. Submit relevant materials according to the requirements of the Household Registration Section of the Public Security Bureau and complete the change procedures.

The historical origin of Han nationality and Hui nationality;

1. Origin background: Han and Hui are two important ethnic groups among 56 ethnic groups in China. The Han nationality is the largest ethnic group in China, and the Hui nationality is the main ethnic group of Islam in China.

2. Formation process: The Hui nationality was mainly formed by Muslim businessmen, craftsmen and some Mongolian and Han nationalities in Central Asia and West Asia during the Yuan Dynasty.

Article 7

The ethnic composition of citizens shall not be changed after confirmation and registration.

Citizens under the age of eighteen, their legal guardians may apply for changing the ethnic composition once in the following circumstances.

(a) citizens under the age of 18, whose parents' marital relationship has changed, and whose ethnic composition is different from that of the party with custody;

(two) citizens under the age of eighteen, whose ethnic composition is different from that of their adoptive parents or stepfathers.

Citizens who have reached the age of 18 can voluntarily choose the ethnic composition of their father or mother once within two years after reaching the age of 18.

Article 8

Citizens under the age of eighteen who change their ethnic composition shall apply by their parents or other legal guardians; A citizen who has reached the age of 18 and applies for changing the ethnic composition shall apply by himself.
