Cixi Village Introduction, Cixi Village

Cixi Village, alias Xu Xi and Huxi. Located in the south of Yanling Mountain, near Qiandao Lake. The village democratic surname is Hu, and his ancestral home is Anding County. According to legend, there are eighteen surnames in this village, and Hu is the most. A stream in front of the village is called "Huxi". Hu Bai, Minister of Nanjing Ministry of Industry in Ming Dynasty, was honest and loved the people. Change "Huxi" to "Cixi" as a souvenir. According to the genealogy of Hu family in Anding, Zitong's ancestor Xuangong moved from the village (now Cixi) and was the ancestor of Hu family in Cixi. So the history of Cixi Village has been more than 800 years. Cixi belongs to the village after emigration. Cixi village is a big village in Zitongyuan, with many people. After the storage of Xin 'anjiang Reservoir in A.D. 1959, the original Cixi was flooded, and some villagers moved to Suichang, some moved to Jiangxi, and some later built a new Cixi village. Cixi Village was once the residence of Waitong Commune and Waitongxiang Government. It is also the political, economic and cultural center of Zitongyuan.
