Xiaogan township immigrants
According to research, there were six major immigrants in Sichuan in history, especially the largest "Huguang filling Sichuan", which lasted for more than a hundred years and the immigrant population exceeded one million. "Xiaogan Township in Macheng, Huguang" is the word * * * in the genealogy of millions of immigrants, and it is also the source of many ancestors entering Sichuan.
Among the four towns and villages in Macheng County in the Ming Dynasty, there was indeed Xiaogan Township. However, in the eighth year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty (1472), Xiaogan Township was merged into Xianju Township. In the forty-second year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1563), when Huang An County was newly built, a part of Macheng (including a small part of the original Xiaogan Township) was included in Huang An, which is today's Hong 'an County.
After repeated investigations, the main part of Xiaogan Township in Macheng, which sent millions of immigrants to Sichuan, is in the south of Macheng today, and only a small part is in Hong 'an (formerly Huang An).
