What does Jiangyin mean?

Jiangyin means Jiangnan. In ancient times, the south with water was called Yin, and Jiangyin was the south of the Yangtze River. Why do some people mistake Jiangyin for northern Jiangsu? This is because there are few people living in Ligang Beach near the Yangtze River in Jiangyin. The ancestors of beach people are immigrants from northern Jiangsu. These people speak Subei dialect, so they can't be counted as Jiangyin people. Jiangyin is the world of Wu dialect, and Jiangyin people belong to the family of Wu Yue people. People who think Jiangyin belongs to northern Jiangsu only see the Yangtze River side of Jiangyin Ligang and not the whole Jiangyin, which is a veritable Jiangnan area.
