Baotou-Hainan high-speed railway

The high-speed railway from Baotou to Hainan is the Baohai high-speed railway, with a total length of about 2,300 kilometers.

If successfully completed, it will become one of the longest high-speed railways in the world. At present, the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway with the longest operating mileage in the world was completed on February 26th, 20 13, with a total length of 2298km.

Baohai high-speed railway is an important construction project from Baotou, Inner Mongolia to Haikou, Hainan, and it is one of the main passages of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway explicitly mentioned in the National Medium and Long-term Railway Network Planning.

The starting point of the line is located in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, passing through Ordos, Yulin, Yan 'an, Tongchuan, Xi 'an, Ankang, Dazhou and other cities, crossing Chongqing and Guizhou provinces, and finally reaching Haikou City, Hainan Province.

It is worth noting that in terms of design speed, most sections of Baohai high-speed railway are set at 350 km/h. If the whole line runs smoothly, it is estimated that it will only take 8 hours from Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, to Haikou, the capital of Hainan.

Value meaning

The construction of the Baohai high-speed rail passage will form a new railway artery, a corridor for cultural exchanges and economic cooperation between the north and the south in the central part of China. The land area, population, number of tourists and economic aggregate of the eight provinces directly involved in this passage account for about 17%, 26%, 32% and 25% of the whole country respectively.

Beaded beads connect Hubei, Anhui, Guanzhong, Chengdu-Chongqing, central Guizhou, Beibu Gulf and Pearl River Delta, which directly promote tourism, culture and scenic spots such as Baotou, Yan 'an, Xi 'an, Chongqing and Guiyang, and enhance the interaction between major urban agglomerations and economic circles.

It is extremely important to promote the old revolutionary areas, poverty-stricken areas and ethnic minority areas along the line to undertake industrial transfer in the eastern and central regions and expand the employment and entrepreneurship of the masses. The north and south can be connected with the national "four horizontal" high-speed rail networks of Xu Lan, Shanghai-Hanrong, Shanghai-Kunming and Guiyang-Guangzhou, and become the fifth longitudinal line of Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed rail to the west, which will surely boost the inland areas to the forefront of opening up.
