Broadway English

Broadway is an important north-south road in New York State, starting from Battery Park in the south and running through Manhattan Island from south to north. Because there are many theaters on both sides of this road, which are important places to promote American dramas and musicals, "Broadway" has become synonymous with musicals.

The original meaning of Broadway is "wide street", but another version is translated from Dutch Brede weg, which means the same as translating Wall Street into Wall Street.

The history of Broadway can be traced back to the beginning of19th century. At that time, Broadway had become the activity center of American drama art. Park Theatre was founded in 18 10, which is the predecessor of Broadway Theatre. The second theater Broadway appeared on Broadway 182 1.

The only theaters really located on Broadway are Marquis, Palace, Winter Garden and Broadway. In fact, all the theaters along Broadway belong to Broadway.
