Application process:

(1) Register and apply for a Macao work permit (the work permit is added to the passport issued for entry and exit in China)

(5) Other persons who have ordinarily resided in Macao for more than seven consecutive years before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region and have taken Macao as their permanent residence;

(6) Children under the age of 18 born in Macao before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region by the permanent residents listed in Item (5).

The above-mentioned residents enjoy the right of abode in the Macao Special Administrative Region and are eligible to obtain permanent identity cards of the Macao Special Administrative Region.

Non-permanent residents of the Macao Special Administrative Region refer to those who are qualified to obtain Macao identity cards according to the laws of the Macao Special Administrative Region, but have no right of abode.
