During the Kaiyuan period of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, the society was stable, the politics was clear and the economy was unprecedentedly prosperous. The Tang Dynasty entered its heyday, which was later called Kaiyuan Shengshi. In the later period of Tang Xuanzong's life, he was fond of pleasure and trusted Li and other treacherous officials, which eventually led to the Anshi Rebellion and the decline of the Tang Dynasty. In the fifteenth year of Tianbao (756), Prince Hengli ascended the throne, honoring him as the emperor's father.

In the first year of Baoying (762), he died in the Shenlong Hall in Chang 'an at the age of 78, and was buried in Jinsu Mountain, named Tailing. Temple name Xuanzong, and because of its posthumous title as the most holy, Daming, filial emperor, Emperor Kangxi's name was taboo in the Qing Dynasty, often called Tang, and was honored as the Kaiyuan emperor.

In 687, Ding Mao was crowned king of Chu as a prince. During the Yongchang period (689), Wu Zetian ordered Li Longji to adopt Li Hong as his son, and let him live in incense. In the second year (690), when Li Longji was five years old, his father Li Dan was deposed by his grandmother Wu Zetian and moved to the East Palace.

At the beginning of the second year (69 1), Li Longji, the seven-year-old king of Chu, began to become a monk and set up a family of officials. In August this year, Fan Yunxian, the room attendant, paid an audience with Prince Li Dan, because his supervisor Pei Fei bowed.
