China spy immigrants

Qian Xuesen and Deng Jiaxian both returned from studying in the United States and joined the atomic bomb research in China. 1948 to 1950, Deng Jiaxian studied at Purdue University, USA, and obtained a doctorate in physics. At that time, Deng Jiaxian was only 26 years old and was called "Doctor Doll". However, only nine days after graduation, he resolutely went home.

Compared with Deng Jiaxian, Qian Xuesen's experience of returning to China is much more complicated. 1950, after receiving Qian Xuesen's application for returning to China, the US government revoked Qian Xuesen's qualification to participate in confidential research on the grounds that Qian Xuesen was accused of being a spy in China, illegally entering the country and monitoring Qian Xuesen for 24 hours. Qian Xuesen couldn't stand all this and asked to return to China immediately on the grounds of visiting relatives. To this end, he met with kimble, the US Navy Secretary in charge of his research work, and solemnly announced to kimble that he would return to China immediately.

Then, why is it so easy for Deng Jiaxian to return to China when Qian Xuesen was banned? This was related to the status of Deng Jiaxian and Qian Xuesen in the United States at that time. Deng Jiaxian returned to China only nine days after receiving his doctorate. At that time, he was not famous, and he could return to China by contract without strict confidentiality restrictions. Secondly, it is normal for non-American citizens to go home. However, Qian Xuesen is different. At that time, he was already a world-famous aerodynamicist. He did research work for the US military and obtained the rank of colonel.

Although Qian Xuesen and Deng Jiaxian have different positions in the United States, they are both scientists who have made outstanding contributions to the research of two bombs in China after returning to China. Only by possessing "two bombs" can China avoid the "nuclear threat" from western developed countries. It is precisely because of the selfless dedication of scientists that we are safe today!
