What are IELTS and TOEFL?
TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language-English test as a foreign language) is an English proficiency test organized by educational testing service (ETS) for students from non-English-speaking countries who apply to go to universities or graduate schools in the United States or Canada. The English name of IELTS is IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
IELTS International English Proficiency Test is jointly organized by the Local Examinations Committee of Cambridge University, IDP Education of Australia and British Council. 1990 was promoted in China in April. There are 2 10 test sites in the world, covering 105 cities. It is designed for students preparing to enter universities and colleges with English as the main teaching language or immigrants from English-speaking countries (referring to Commonwealth countries) to test their English level.
Many institutions in Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Netherlands, England, Scotland, Singapore, the United States (200 institutions) and many countries have adopted and recognized IELTS scores. From July 1, all students studying in Australia will submit IELTS without using TOEFL scores. Immigration bureaus in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries regard test scores as the only criterion to measure the English language ability of skilled immigrants and other immigrants. Schools and continuing education programs in the above-mentioned countries, as well as colleges and universities in many countries, accept examination results and set different standards for the passing of examination results.
