What are the procedures for Americans to immigrate to China?

China is very strict about nationality. Foreigners must have a "China Green Card"-permanent residency before applying for China citizenship. However, in China, the threshold for applying for permanent residence is extremely high, and so far only hundreds of foreigners have applied for approval. They are all experts and friendly people who have made outstanding contributions to China for many years, or foreign executives of multinational corporations that have invested heavily in China for many years.
