Gelideng building

From 65438 to 0909, Francis K.Glidden, the son of the founder and president of Glidden Coatings Company, built a dream home for his family in the university town. The family chose to build a house in Wade Park, a residential area near the case western reserve university campus. This area is designed for the wealthy residents of Cleveland. Even in the company of rich people, the Greden Building is one of the largest and most impressive buildings in this community. It has dozens of rooms, a complete basement, a solemn corner yard and a carriage house.

Greden House was built as the main residence of this family. Francis (Frank) and his family moved from East 55th Street to a new mansion in 19 10. After his death in 1933, his wife Mary and her sister, another famous Cleveland woman Ida Winifred, lived at home until her death in 1939. Mrs Winifred stayed at home until the early 1950s.

Like most elite communities in Cleveland, most wealthy residents of Wade Park were abandoned in the nearby suburbs. The expanding suburbs are proud to be close to Cleveland, and there is no noise and pollution related to the city. Suburbs also provide security, bigger yards and lower price tags. This kind of immigration has left many old houses at the disposal of surrounding institutions. Fortunately, because Glidden House is located in the center of WRU campus, the school bought this property and made good use of it. It was originally used as the building of the psychology department for many years, and later became a part of the law school.

In the mid-1980s, Glidden House evolved into a boutique hotel. This house is part of a big movement for more housing in university circles. In the past, the most common development practice here included replacing residential buildings with institutional buildings. Although many original houses were demolished to make way for high-tech campus buildings or large museums, these institutions also saved some magnificent homes. Gridehouse is a family that not only survives, but is also constantly being used to contribute to the development of the university circle.
