If you need extra foreign exchange, there are several ways:

First, you can apply for a draft at the Bank of China. The payee writes your own name on the draft. After you open an account with the Bank of Canada, you can immediately deposit the draft into your own account.

Second, after you open an account in a Canadian bank, you can ask your family to remit money to your Canadian account in China Bank.

Third, you can apply for a foreign exchange credit card at ICBC or BOC and bring it to Canada for use;

Fourth, at least three weeks before departure, you can prepare in advance to open an account with the Bank of Montreal or Beijing Imperial Commercial Bank and remit foreign exchange. You can get the money after you open an account in Canada.

The immigration officer will put a yellow piece of paper on your passport to study in Canada.
