India belongs to an immigrant country. The Republic of India, referred to as "India" for short, is located in South Asia and the largest country in the South Asian subcontinent. It borders Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and China in the northeast, Myanmar in the east, Sri Lanka across the sea in the southeast and Pakistan in the northwest.

The capital of India is New Delhi, which is located on the bank of Yamuna River, a tributary of Ganges River in India. It is directly under the jurisdiction of the central government, including new and old Delhi and suburban villages, with an area of 1.485 square kilometers (including urban area of 446.3 square kilometers). It is the political, economic and cultural center of India, as well as the railway and aviation hub.
