After reading the profile of The Kite Runner, I want to ask, is there a big difference between movies and novels?

There is little description of this passage in the film, as if my father was born an American citizen without any discomfort.

3. Hassan's rabbit lips

The most obvious difference from the original book is that Hassan in the novel is born with rabbit lips, but Hassan in the film is a safe Hazara. Although seemingly unimportant details, they actually paved the way for later revealing Hassan's true identity. At that time, Hassan was born with rabbit lips, which inspired his father's pity, so he loved Hassan more than Amir, which caused Amir's jealousy.
