Of course, what I miss is not the avalanche of homework and exams, but the simple and pure friendship of the school. More importantly, I miss my school, because I always imagine that it might be easier if I use my school time to learn more knowledge and make more preparations for employment.

Most friends who are about to graduate are confused and don't know what road they will take in the future. So my first suggestion is to find the right path, especially for international students, and plan every step after graduation, because one wrong step will lose the game. For the immigrant students here, you should know about the recent economic situation, the employment situation in your industry, and the general starting salary and annual salary information. For international students, the first thing you have to decide is whether to go or stay. Compare the city you want to go back to with here and make a general direction. Have a long-term plan for your work visa application and immigration application time. After you have a general direction, you must go down to earth, be firm and believe in yourself.

Secondly, I suggest that graduating students should have a clear understanding of themselves. I feel that many people around me have the problem of whether they are high or not. Many times, I treat hard-won interviews and think that this job is not my ideal job, so I don't pay attention to it. After being hit hard, the opportunity has been missed. Of course, the other extreme is despair. When you get a job, no matter what kind of job it is, whether it is beneficial to your future development or not, you will accept it. In this way, you will feel that you are not suitable after doing it, which is not only a waste of time, but also a negative impact on your resume. If you have a clear understanding of yourself, you will have a good grasp of your cards and find a job that is beneficial to your career development.

Thirdly, I suggest you make good use of your time at school and study more to prepare for employment. In addition to marketing or sales in the future, I know more or less that almost every industry has its own industry certificate. Don't ignore this, because of the complexity of immigration and the intensity of employment, North America is a very certified society. When I first graduated, there was a general argument that it was not urgent to take the certificate examination, and it was more practical when you really came to this field to understand it. Facts have proved that if you add a certificate to your resume, you will find that you will get more opportunities. Many times, you will see that many job advertisements will say "certificate is an asset", so I tell you that there is a 99% chance that the person who gets this job must have this certificate. And textual research is a science. For example, students who study acccounting all know CA, CGA, CMA and CPA. Among them, the designation of CGA and CMA is more common in entry-level jobs, and those who can enter the CA program will also enter the Big Four or other well-known accounting firms. So if you have good conditions in other aspects and have a chance to get four big jobs, CA is your choice. If you think it is better to start from a low level and work slowly, CGA is more suitable, while CMA is for students who are interested in management in the future. As for finance, many people know CSC and CFA. CFA is, of course, the golden signboard of financial circles. Those who passed the CFA Level 3 exam in previous years have an annual salary of at least 100,000 yuan. Even today, people who have passed the CFA Level 3 exam and have no work experience can easily find entry-level jobs with an annual salary of more than 60,000 yuan. Because of his talent, I heard that many people think that taking CFA exam will be more practical than taking CSC exam. But in my experience, if you have CSC, it will be more useful than signing up for CFA, and it will be easier to find entry-level jobs. So you should have a strategy when researching. Talk about survival first and then talk about development.

The third point is about work experience. School seems to be a carefree paradise, and many of us will use our holidays to go home or travel. In retrospect, I think that if I had traveled back to China, I could have used this time to do more coop work, which might be more useful for employment. If the economy is not your problem, I suggest you do something that is helpful for employment, instead of painting or supermarket retailing. If you study accounting, go to an accounting firm. You'd rather get less money than valuable experience. The more relevant and rich the experience, the stronger your competitiveness in the job market. Many international students say that they have no legal status to work here. I know such a person who goes back to work in a foreign bank every summer vacation and got a postgraduate offer before graduation here. So there is nothing you can't do, it depends on whether you want to do it or not. Similarly, for example, the re-election of the student union is in full swing. If you can join a club to exercise, your personality and ability will be greatly improved. The University of Waterloo ranks first among undergraduate universities year after year, and the employment rate of students is higher. Why? It's because their coop program gives students an easy opportunity to integrate into society, and employers don't have to doubt whether he will hire someone who is not suitable for this job.

The fourth point is about the network. I think the most important thing in finding a job this year is how to get in touch with people. Many times we are new here and don't have this advantage, so we should actively strive for opportunities. Attend more seminars and meet more people. You don't have to know the people you are looking for in this industry. Everyone you know is your resource. How to mobilize this resource is too big.
