Historical legends of Daxia country

1362, a "the only thrill" was born in Chongqing.

His name is Ming Yuzhen (A.D.1331-1366), a native of Suizhou, Hubei. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, due to political corruption, peasant uprisings surged. He also took up a village soldier and took refuge in Xu Shouhui, commander-in-chief of the Red Scarf Army. Ming Yuzhen is eight feet long and has a pair of pupils (there are two eyes in the eyeball). At first, he was the captain of the bow and arrow team. He was shot in the right eye by a flowing arrow, so he got the nickname "Bright Eye" and was a cyclops.

Later, he was promoted to marshal and was stationed in Mianyang, Hubei Province. Because of natural and man-made disasters, the people were poor, so he took advantage of the infighting of officials stationed in Chongqing in the Yuan Dynasty, led 3,000 troops and 50 paddle boats to the Three Gorges, occupied Chongqing, and gradually ruled Chongqing and parts of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces.

At this point, Chen Youliang in the uprising army killed Xu Shouhui, calling himself Emperor Han. Ming Yuzhen was very angry and said, "You can be emperor, but I can't?" Take Chongqing as the capital, establish Daxia country, and call it Tiantong. This is the twenty-second year of the Yuan Dynasty.

Liu Qing was established in the imperial court of Daxia Dynasty, Chang'an Temple was the place where Liu Qing managed state affairs at that time, and Chang'an Temple was the capital of Chongqing. Sichuan is divided into eight roads, with state and county officials as the rule; Ming Yuzhen also set up schools, recruited students and absorbed intellectuals to participate in political power; Reforming the tax system, exempting corvees, forbidding plundering, won the hearts of the people for a while, and the society became increasingly prosperous and stable, which was quite a symbol of establishing the country as a monarch.

After Ming Yuzhen's death, he passed it on to his son Ming Sheng. Soon, the Ming Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang unified China. In the second year of Hongwu (1369), an emissary was sent to surrender, which was rejected by Ming Sheng. But reunification is the general trend and the will of the people. In the fourth year of Hongwu, Zhu Yuanzhang sent Tanghe, Fu Youde Fenshui and Lvliang to crusade, and the shipmaster took Chongqing directly, so Ming Sheng had to surrender.

After the rise and fall of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang sent his family to North Korea and later developed into a noble family. In the 1990s, descendants of the Ming Dynasty came to Chongqing from South Korea to seek their roots. Boating down from Chaotianmen in Chongqing, not far from the marble stone on the south bank, there is a big Buddhist temple by the river. It was two years of genius. In order to protect the safety of sailing here and suppress the river demon, Ming Yuzhen ordered Zou Xing, the capital court, to carve a statue of Siddhartha Gautama on the stone wall of the river bank, with a height of 7.5 meters, a shoulder width of 2.5 meters and a seat width of 3.3 meters. It faces the river, solemn and cordial. Behind the Buddha statue is the Great Buddha Temple, and the incense has flourished to this day.

Now, when you come to Chongqing from the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and enter the main city, the majestic Giant Buddha Temple Bridge is the first thing you see. Nanbin Road also runs through the back of the Giant Buddha Temple and extends to the newly-built tourist area "Foreigner Street", which is another beautiful scenery.
