Where does Three Chu refer to?

Three Chu refers to the territory of Chu in the pre-Qin period, and Qin and Han periods are divided into western Chu, eastern Chu and southern Chu.

Nan Chu: Chu Cheng. In the eyes of Huaxia nation, Chu is located in the "land of barbarians". After the expansion of the Chu people, they occupied the two lakes, southern Henan, southwestern Anhui, Jiangxi and other regions. During the Spring and Autumn Period, because Chu was located in the south of the Central Plains, the countries in the Central Plains called it "Southern Chu".

Dong Chu: At the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, after wuyue's hegemony, the King of Yue won and occupied Jiangsu and Zhejiang; During the Warring States Period, the State of Chu destroyed Yue and occupied wuyue. Because this new territory is in the east of the old place, it is called "Dongchu".

Western Chu: After the decline of Chu State, Ying Du, the capital, was conquered by the Qin Dynasty and slaughtered and destroyed. In order to avoid sharp edges, the Chu people moved eastward, and at this time, the hometown of southern Chu was no longer the center of Chu. In the process of Chu's northward advance, Lu was destroyed, Xuzhou in Anhui Province and the north of Huaihe River were occupied, and a large number of people immigrated to Huaibei. This area is called Xichu because it is located in the west of Dongchu.

In nature, southern Chu is the birthplace, eastern Chu is the conquest and assimilation area, and western Chu is the colony.
