After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), he served as a professor and deputy provost of Northeast Normal University, deputy director and director of the Literature Studio of the Chinese Writers Association, professor of Jilin University, dean and vice president of the Chinese Department, and the third and fourth presidents of the Jilin Branch of the Chinese Writers Association. 1February 1946 to1September 1946 served as secretary of the Party Committee of Northeast Normal University.

In the postscript of Selected Poems of Miyagi, he said, "Nine times out of ten, I am interested in poetry". He studied "A Thousand Poems" with amazing perseverance and loved Tang poetry and Song poetry. In the long journey of studying, he wrote while reading, and finally laid a solid foundation for extensive classical literature and linguistics. He has been the editor-in-chief of Military Literature and Art, and published poems and papers in poetry newspapers and periodicals all over the country. Lu Xun's style of study and Jiang Guangci's poems became the model of his lifelong struggle and study. With his fresh and simple style, he enthusiastically eulogized the awakening of farmers, and the masses gained the excitement of liberation and yearning for a better future. Not only that, he is still working hard on the road of cultivating a new generation. Today's new generation of poets, such as,, Liushahe, Weiyang, are all addressed as Mr. Gong Wei. It should be said that Miyagi left a lot for young people. Gong Mu's famous work "Military Songs of China People's Liberation Army" is even more important. The song "Forward, forward, forward, our team shoulders the hope of the nation together with the sun and the motherland, and we are an invincible force ..." Composer Zheng Lvcheng seems to have inserted wings after composing. That year, it flew freely in the base area with a high-pitched and exciting melody and lingered in the cool sky. For more than 50 years, this song has inspired generations of China People's Liberation Army soldiers to fight, grow and win. During the birth and final publication of the world-famous song Dongfanghong, Gong Mu devoted himself to it. Gong Mu is really a "propagandist with songs as a tool".
