At the same time, there is a natural rainfall area of 53.9 square kilometers in the reservoir area, and the water sources in this part of the reservoir area are not polluted. In addition, Yanerhe Reservoir belongs to Minjiang River system, which is different from Fujiang River, the first water source in Mianyang City. It is a good choice to choose Yanerhe Reservoir as the second water source in Mianyang City.

"Yanerhe Reservoir has jumped from the standby water source to the second water source in Mianyang City." Mianyang Water Affairs Bureau and Mianyang Water Group will invest in two new water plants, each with a planned daily production capacity of 400,000 tons. The location of two water plants has been intended. The new water plant of Mianyang Water Affairs Bureau is on the left side of the dam, and the new water plant of Mianyang Water Group is on the right side of the dam. These two water plants will supply water to tens of thousands of residents in Wu Jia Town, Jinfeng Town and Yangjia Town, which are adjacent to Yanerhe Reservoir. At the same time, a water pipeline will be planned to be built directly to Mianyang city, making it a veritable second water source in Mianyang city.
