What is "CCIE"?

CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) is Cisco Certified Internet Expert. It is Cisco’s most advanced technical ability certification. It is located at the top of the Cisco pyramid certification system and is also the most authoritative and respected certificate recognized by the IT industry. One of the top ten IT certifications in the world in 2003, it has the reputation of being the ultimate IT certification. Currently, CCIE is divided into four categories: CCIE-routing and switching; CCIE-communications and services; CCIE-security; CCIE-voice.

The CCIE exam does not require you to obtain a CCNA/CCNP certificate before you can directly take the CCIE certification exam. Therefore, as long as you have mastered enough technology, you can directly take the CCIE exam.

The CCIE exam is divided into two parts: written test and experimental part. Candidates must pass the written test first before they are eligible to take the experimental exam. You can register for the written test at any Sylvan exam center. The experimental part must be taken at Cisco. To participate, there are currently two examination centers in China, Beijing and Hong Kong. CCIE certification is divided into two states: active and inactive. If you plan to immigrate technically, you can get extra points by passing the CCIE certification. More than half of the CCIEs passed in China have immigrated abroad. Currently, the annual salary of a CCIE in the United States can reach US$150,000, not including stock options and other benefits.
