A true and touching story, see what American veterans say about volunteers.

This Christmas, my classmate's nephew came back from America to visit relatives.
The young man immigrated to the United States with his family ten years ago and just graduated from college this year. During the chat, the young man said that he was a guest at the university teacher's house not long ago and happened to meet the teacher's old father. During the chat, he learned that this octogenarian named Martin also participated in the Korean War.
Chinese people's Volunteer Army crossed the Yalu River.
Facing this young man who came to visit his family from China, the old man described in detail his "close contact" with volunteers in China. Because this young man is not a military fan, he didn't ask the old man about the bugle and the time and place where it happened, which makes me very sorry. )
The following is what happened according to the young man's account:
Martin's company took over the position of the combat troops the day before in the evening, and the two sides confronted each other across a road. Across the road is a low mountain range. On the other side of the ridge is the position controlled by the volunteers, and this side of the road is controlled by the US military. The next morning, the American troops in the position found six people walking slowly down the opposite uphill, and one of them was holding a white flag with a red cross.
When walking down the hillside, Martin could tell that two of them were volunteers from China, the other four were wearing American uniforms, and all six were unarmed. The soldiers in the American position are confused. They don't know what China people want to do. They stopped when they came to the side of the road. At this time, Martin and they clearly saw that the four American soldiers were covered in blood and bandaged, and they were all slightly injured. A volunteer waved the Red Cross flag, indicating that he did not understand the position of the US military, as if to return the wounded to the US military.
Martin's company commander decided to find out, so he slowly joined him with Martin, another soldier and a military doctor. After the two sides meet, Chinese leaders will speak a little English and say they are doctors. They captured several Americans who were injured in the battle the day before. Because it could not be sent to the rear and the medical conditions were not good, the superior decided to hand it over to the US military.
They were surrounded by four wounded people who could walk, and there were several seriously wounded people behind them. They didn't come down together because they were worried about the US military firing. He just came to tell the American army that he hoped that when these seriously wounded people were knocked down, the American army would not fire. Martin and they were very surprised, and his company commander hesitated for a moment. The China doctor seemed to see through their minds and said only one sentence: We are not Japanese troops. (Afterwards, the company commander said that he was really worried that the volunteers would charge behind the wounded. )
Dr China turned around and waved a flag on the hillside. After a while, a dozen volunteers carried five stretchers up the hillside, walked slowly to Martin's side and put the stretchers on the ground. The five men were badly hurt, but Martin could see that China had treated them, so they were still alive.
After the American carried the wounded back, the Chinese doctor stopped Martin's company commander and the American military doctor, pointed to the first-aid kit on the military doctor and said that they were out of medicine. Can you give him some medicine? There are also wounded people there. To Martin's surprise, the corpsman didn't even ask the company commander's permission. Without further ado, he took down the first aid kit and handed it to the China man. He also took out a few bottles of medicine in his pocket, and the company commander looked at it without saying a word.
Finally, when the two sides broke up, Martin's company commander gave a military salute to these volunteers. China people seemed to hesitate for a while, but in the end no one reciprocated, only the doctor nodded to them. Then a dozen people hurried up the hill and went back.
Martin said that since then, the hot-tempered company commander seems to have become a bit eccentric and obviously war-weary. And the whole company has almost no fighting capacity. Martin talked about his feelings, saying that after that, he couldn't think of China people as enemies. He said that these volunteers are a combination of courage and kindness. They are extremely brave on the battlefield and are more kind than American soldiers outside the battlefield. Such an army will not be evil. After that, he prayed every day that he would survive, but at the same time he prayed that he would not kill the soldiers in China. He also said that he has always respected the people of China, although China has fallen behind for decades. If there is another war between China and the United States in the future, he thinks there must be something wrong with the US government.
When I watched this young man from China who grew up in the United States tell this story, I clearly saw the pride on his face, because I felt the same way myself. Suddenly I feel that my nation and those volunteers are so great. We are not as fierce and cruel as the Japanese, but we are by no means as weak and cowardly as the Italian army. This is also the difference between the Chinese nation and those nations in Japan and South Korea. I firmly believe that those nations that never treat others well in their hearts do not deserve to be excellent nations!
