Conditions for sports specialty students to apply for studying abroad
At present, when sports students consult study abroad agencies, they are more concerned about: What are the requirements of overseas sports majors for their usual grades and language? Can sports specialty students get extra points for studying abroad? Do I have to apply for sports-related majors? What other majors can I apply for? How to change majors? Can I apply for a scholarship if I am a national second-class athlete?
In this regard, Lin Xuejian, marketing manager of the Catholic University of San Antonio, said that the threshold for sports students to apply for studying abroad is not high. Take the Catholic University of San Antonio in Spain as an example. Students with a score of 400 or above in the college entrance examination can enroll in their courses. However, because Spanish courses are taught in Spanish, students are required to have a level of Spanish A2 on their study visa, so students need to study Spanish courses in China for a certain period of time before they can study in Spain. If students have the level of Spanish B 1, they can apply for Spanish undergraduate courses directly. Students who apply for undergraduate or master's courses in sports-related majors in American universities are advised to score 80 points in TOEFL, usually above 80 points. Students applying for undergraduate and master's courses in British sports-related majors must have at least IELTS 6.5.
In addition, Lin Xuejian reminded students that they must fully demonstrate their sports strength before applying. Professional athletes need to provide complete and true sports certificates, and it is best to provide videos to prove their athletic ability and prepare for interviews. For example, when students apply for a school, in order to prove that they are good at football, they should provide videos or certificates of their previous participation in football matches. The school will send scouts to China to watch the applicants play football when the students' materials are confirmed to be in order to verify the students' real level.
Some schools can reduce tuition fees for special students.
In terms of the cost of studying abroad, students choose to study physical education in Spain, and their public universities are free of tuition. International students only need to pay a registration fee of about 900~ 1500 euros per year (according to the students' 60 credits a year, the registration fee for each credit is about 15~25 euros). The tuition fee of private schools in Spain is about 4,000 ~ 6,000 euros/year, or about 32,000 yuan/year. If students choose the United States and Britain, their cost of studying abroad (living expenses+tuition) is similar to that of ordinary students. The cost of studying in the United States is about 25,000-50,000 US dollars/year (about 654.38+0.5-300,000 RMB), and American universities can generally provide generous scholarships. Sports specialty students can contact the school sports association or club to find out. Britain is about 16000 pounds/year. Due to the recent decline in the exchange rate of the British pound, students choose to go to the UK, saving nearly13 of the cost of studying abroad.
Lin Xuejian reminded that different schools pay different attention to sports students, which may also help students reduce some expenses. For example, San Antonio University will consider subsidizing different living expenses and tuition fees according to students' sports level, that is, scholarships often asked by China students, which will be distributed in the form of tuition reduction. ? This mainly depends on the level of students' sports expertise. ? For example, if a student has a high level of physical education and can join a professional team, the school will subsidize his living expenses and exempt some of his tuition fees. A student who wants to apply for this school this year, because he has participated in the Guangzhou Youth Football Team, the school intends to help students apply for living expenses subsidies.
