This village originated in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty. Immigrants from Yunnan, such as Hou, Su and others, settled here. Because it is located in a depression, it was named as Jiawa Qiu Zi, Houjiawaziqiu, Sujiawaziqiu and Liujiawa Qiu Zi respectively. During the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, Wang Xing moved from Jiaoxian County to this place, hence the name Wangjiawa Qiu Zi. After seeing some gravel on the depression, he changed the word "depression" to "tile" 1957, five natural villages merged into one administrative village, collectively known as Waziqiu.

As early as 1985, villagers drank tap water from their village. 1989 invested 400,000 yuan to rebuild primary schools. 1993 invested 500,000 yuan to build first-class health centers, purchased equipment such as B-ultrasound, X-ray and computer labs, and equipped them with 16 beds. The village has a pioneer library, an elderly activity center, more than 800 fixed telephones and more than 900 cable TV users. The participation rate of cooperative medical system reached 95%, and it was successively rated as "pingdu city Advanced Party Branch", "Social Civilization Village", "Qingdao Spiritual Civilization Village" and "Five Advanced Party Branches".
