If you have just established a family with a Dutch national or a person who officially lives in the Netherlands, or you are already a spouse, partner or/kloc-a child under the age of 0/8, including officially adopted children, you can enter the Netherlands and further apply for a VTV residence permit. However, first you must apply for a visa named MVV at the Dutch embassy or consulate in your country or region.
The full name of MVV is Machtiging tot voorlopigverblijf, which is a special visa. All foreigners who want to stay in the Netherlands for more than 3 months, including those who come to work or study in the Netherlands, need to apply for MVV. Relatives and institutions in the Netherlands can also apply for MVV from the foreigners' police station in their area. MVV was finally issued by the Visa Office of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Applicants will be invited to the Dutch diplomatic agency in their country or region for an interview. MVV is finally printed on the passport page of the applicant in the form of a seal.
Forming a family through marriage or cohabitation, including reunion with family members, is a legitimate reason to apply for MVV, and relatives in the Netherlands must meet certain conditions. The main application conditions are:
1. You must have Dutch nationality or official residence.
You must have permanent residence in Holland.
3. You must have a regular paid job with a monthly income of at least 70% of the social assistance provided by your parents' family, and you must have a work contract for more than one year on the date of application.

After letting MVV enter the Netherlands, you should report to the Aliens Police Station within 3 days and apply for temporary residence in VTV. VTV is valid for up to one year or less. Before the expiration of VTV, you need to apply to the Aliens Police for an extension. If you have obtained VTV and have lived legally in the Netherlands for more than 5 years, you can apply for long-term residence. However, if you want to determine your long-term residence status in the Netherlands as soon as possible, you can also try to learn Dutch well and get familiar with the basic knowledge of Dutch social life, and then apply for Dutch citizenship after living in the Netherlands for three consecutive years.
Tip: The above paragraph is also relatively applicable to students applying to study in the Netherlands. If you have obtained VTV legal residence for 5 years in the name of studying in the Netherlands, plus a one-year work contract, you can also apply to join the Netherlands for long-term residence.

When Dutch employers hire foreign workers, they must first apply for a labor permit for the employee, which is the official name in Dutch.

Take ordinary employees as an example:
* Employers must appear to be hiring employees with special skills. Employers have tried their best to recruit in the Netherlands, for example, through advertising, but without results.

* Employers are prepared to pay foreign employees a monthly salary higher than the new minimum wage for full-time jobs.

* Foreign employees must meet the job requirements required by the employer and have the qualifications and skills to engage in the vacant position.
* Foreign employees must have or prepare to apply for VTV residency in the Netherlands.
In addition, different jobs have different age requirements for foreign employees.
When both the employer and the employee think that the above basic conditions are met, the employer can apply to the labor department in the Netherlands for a work permit. Meeting the above conditions does not mean that the Ministry of Labor will successfully issue work permits.
The Labour Department will make a decision based on the current situation and future trend of the labour market. In practice, it may be that it is easier to apply for foreign workers in a certain area, but it is more difficult in a certain area.
If a foreign worker has obtained a labor permit and temporarily stayed in VTV, and is engaged in paid work in the Netherlands, it is not allowed to change employers within three years; If you want to change your employer, the new employer must apply to the regional labor department for a new labor permit in accordance with the above conditions and procedures. If you change your employer privately within three years, you may not have the opportunity to obtain long-term residence in the future.
If you want to change employers freely without affecting your long-term residence in the future, foreign workers should apply to the Aliens Police Station for a note entitled "Free Employment", which is in Dutch VRIJ Selling van de Tewerkstellingsvergunning.
Foreign workers who have worked for the same employer for five consecutive years in the Netherlands or changed their employers according to regulations can apply for long-term residence or Dutch nationality. However, according to the new law, when applying for long-term residence, foreigners' police often require foreign workers to continue to have sufficient means of subsistence, that is, they continue to have jobs, and their net income is at least equivalent to the amount of general assistance. Therefore, after working for five years, the most sensible thing is to sign a labor contract with your employer for more than one year, and you will get a long-term residence more smoothly.
