How do American parents educate their children?

During my years of immigrant life in the United States, it was those American parents who dealt with me the most. According to my observation and understanding for many years, what touches my heart most is that American parents generally adopt a tailor-made approach to their children according to their actual situation.

Two examples of American family education

Example 1: The east is not bright and the west is bright.

No matter who it is, as long as it comes to education, it is particularly easy to walk into the rules. To this end, I will use a few real stories to explain this problem simply and directly.

Taylor and Clara are two lovely American girls. Unfortunately, they all suffer from language and visual impairment respectively. Although the doctor's treatment relieved their respective symptoms, in any case, they could not return to the health level of normal children. All Americans love sports, and the achievements of Taylor and Clara are impressive.

Example 2: Assess the situation and do what you can.

Brandi is a premature baby, thin and small, and her mother is a single mother. In single-parent families, children's education is always worrying. Although all Americans love sports, it is really difficult for this fragile little girl to make Brandy achieve something in sports like Taylor and Clara. When Brandy was five years old, her mother began to design her future, and focusing on violin and stage performance became Brandy's main homework after class. Every time there is a stage play in Brandi's school, there will always be a lively figure of Brandi jumping on the stage. Perhaps the experience of stage performance increased Brandi's confidence. After junior high school, she began to run for the president of the student union and won the election. Recently, on behalf of American middle school students, Brandi toured Europe again with the violin that accompanied her for many years. Brandi's outstanding talent and leadership will definitely add a bright color to her application for university in a few years.

Optimistic incentive method

As can be seen from the above examples, American parents are not completely absorbed in their studies. Assessing the situation, acting according to one's abilities and fully tapping the potential of children are their typical parenting experiences. Besides, American parents like to encourage their children more than our parents in China, whether in sports, music or academic training. This optimistic encouragement method of American parents to their children is worth learning.
