Influence of Xunyang Hydropower Station on Ankang City

After the completion of Xunyang Hydropower Station, the Hanjiang River in Ankang City, Shaanxi Province will form a calm lake surface, which is conducive to the development of local tourism economy. It has a great influence on the domestic water consumption in Ankang, especially on the water quality of Mapoling and Xujiatai water sources in the reservoir area. Xunyang Hydropower Station is a hydropower hub project focusing on power generation and shipping. This is the fifth of the seven steps in the planning of the main stream of the upper reaches of the Han River. It is located about 2 kilometers south of Xunyang City, Shaanxi Province, 65 kilometers away from the built Ankang Hydropower Station, 55 kilometers away from the built Shuhe Hydropower Station and 200 kilometers away from the built Danjiangkou Hydropower Station. The hub building consists of barrage, riverbed workshop and navigation facilities. The main task of the project is to generate electricity, taking into account shipping, flood control, tourism and aquaculture.
