Do American customs handle import and export on weekends?

The U.S. Customs is divided into two parts, namely, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which are responsible for border enforcement and case investigation respectively, and were established on March 1 2003.

The main task of CBP is to prevent terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering America. To this end, CBP will focus on enhancing the security of American borders and ports, expanding American safe areas beyond the geographical boundaries of the United States, thus turning the American border from the first line of defense to the last line of defense. The main duties of CBP include: arresting illegal immigrants and banning drugs and other contraband, protecting agricultural and economic interests from harmful animals, plants and diseases, protecting American enterprises from intellectual property infringement, standardizing and promoting international trade, collecting import tariffs, and enforcing American trade laws.
