In the second year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty (1507), Gao Zongyuan moved here from Xuanhua County, Hebei Province to build a village, and named the village Gaojia after his surname. Gaojiacun is located in the northeast of Haiyang City, at 121°08′ east longitude and 36°56′ north latitude. It borders Nanhedong Village in the southeast, Wujiagou Village in the southwest, Erwangjia Village in the north, and intersects with Dangdao Village in the northwest.
