According to the ancient bricks, tiles, and porcelain found in the soil beneath Ximaling Ridge in the west of the street, it is speculated that there should be an ancient city (or town) behind Qingxi Palace in the Ming Dynasty. Judging from the ruins and antiquities, this city was destroyed by war, plague, or floods. among. It is said that a plague occurred in this city in ancient times, and almost all the residents died of the plague, leaving this place uninhabited. Later, the emperor immigrated and moved residents from Huaishudi, Shaanxi Province. They built a village in the depression northeast of Qingxi Palace and built a residential street (called Beizi Town in ancient times). Because it was located at the back of the ancient city, it was named Beizi. ("Bei" means facing away, and "Zi" means hard work, and people work hard here to raise offspring.).

Before liberation, Beizi Street was a market town in a mountainous area, and the silk and silversmith industry was It was prosperous. There were often businessmen coming and going, and the north corresponded to Ruzhou City (old Ruzhou). "Jizhou" was the place where businessmen stored their fodder. In 1941, the Kuomintang connected Beizi with Cangtou and Tile House. and other places were combined into Siwei Township, and Beizi was set up as a "bao", called "Xi Erbao". In 1945, the People's Liberation Army Pi Dingjun's headquarters was stationed. After the liberation in 1947, Beizi was established successively. Zixiang and Beizi Commune were under the jurisdiction of Wawu District in 1958. Beizi Commune was established in 1960 and is now a separate township.
