Just got a low green card. Is it a temporary green card to return home?

First, all anyone gets through asylum is an I94 card with your asylum pass and an official letter from the Immigration Bureau, which is also commonly known as a white card, but it is definitely not a green card, and there is no so-called temporary green card. Legally speaking, you are only an asylum refugee for one year, but after one year, you are eligible to apply for permanent residence (which is what we call a green card) and pay the application fee and physical examination at the same time, which is only a legal requirement.

Second, in your first year of refugee status, you are not advised to leave the United States. After all, when you fill in the I485 form in the future, the Immigration Bureau will ask you to have a second interview to find out why you went abroad, so there is no need to cause these troubles.
