Lack of Honesty: The Original Sin of "Fake Door" for International Students

Author: Yu Mensheng

Recently, 50 China students were expelled from the University of Newcastle, England, because the fake materials produced by their study agents were found out. Among the 50 students from China who were expelled, 49 were from mainland China and 50 were from Taiwan Province Province 1 person. Whether in Britain or China, this incident has caused an uproar. (China Youth Daily165438+1October 26th)

Only a few of the 50 international students knew from the beginning that the study agent had made fake materials for themselves, and most of them didn't know that they had been cheated by the study agent. Whether it is active or passive fraud, it can't change the fate of being fired. There is no doubt that these international students are a very injured group in the "fake door". After the school informed the Immigration Bureau, they all faced the same dilemma: their visas were invalid, and they had to reapply or go back to China. It is far more than these expelled international students who are hurt by the "fake door" of international students. The "fake door" makes the learning and living environment faced by all international students in China more difficult and shames all China people collectively: "Even people are fake, what else is not fake?" In the face of such verbal attacks, we are somewhat passive.

We have no intention of blaming these expelled international students. After all, they are the people who suffered the most in the "fake door", and they paid a painful price for their actions. However, it is necessary to reflect on the "fake door" incident and criticize the initiator of the fake *-study abroad intermediary, which is a precaution to avoid similar incidents from happening again in the future.

The deep-seated reason of the "fake door" incident is the blind worship of students and parents to study abroad. Many students have poor grades and may not be admitted to key universities in China, but these parents are eager for their children to succeed, want to send their children abroad to study at all costs, and naively want to enter famous universities abroad. It is this blind worship and unrealistic idea of studying abroad that is used by the black-hearted study abroad agency. In order to meet the needs of parents and students and earn their own agency fees, they forged student information so that these students can be successfully admitted to foreign universities. They are only responsible for sending students to foreign universities, regardless of agency fees. It may be that some foreign universities didn't find it because of lax censorship, or they didn't take it seriously when they knew it. Many international students admitted through information fraud escaped punishment like Mr. Nanguo exposed Qi Xuanwang. As a result, the courage of intermediary fraud is growing, and students are also convinced of this practice. I don't know how clever I am, but I will still give the clues to the real King of Qi, but this time it is Newcastle University who plays the King of Qi.

The "fake door" incident has given us a lot of enlightenment, which not only exposed many problems, but also taught us many lessons. First of all, it is necessary to strengthen the management of study abroad agents who played an important role in the "fake door" incident, so that they can bear economic and even legal responsibilities for their fake behavior and prevent similar "fake door" incidents from happening again. Secondly, parents and students should learn a lesson. Foreign countries are not paradise, and studying abroad is not a necessary journey in life. In particular, don't naively think that you are a nobody at home, and you can become Jackie Chan when you go abroad. Only by keeping a clear head can we distinguish between right and wrong and not be used by the agents studying abroad. Finally, our colleges and universities should learn more from Newcastle University and learn this serious spirit. Although international students are the main source of income of the school, they sympathize with these international students who have been expelled because of fraud, and would rather lose some economic income than maintain the quality of teaching and the good reputation established by the school over the years.
