Nationality law is a legal provision regulating the acquisition, loss and restoration of nationality of citizens of sovereign countries. Generally speaking, the basic content of nationality laws in the world consists of three parts, namely, the acquisition of nationality, the loss of nationality and the management of nationality.

Article 7
Foreigners or stateless persons who are willing to abide by the Constitution and laws of China and meet one of the following conditions may be granted China nationality upon application:
First, close relatives of China people;
Second, settle in China;
3. There are other legitimate reasons.
Article 8
If the application for China citizenship is approved, China citizenship will be obtained; Those who have been approved to join China nationality shall not retain their foreign nationality.
Article 9
China citizens who have settled in foreign countries will automatically lose their China nationality if they voluntarily join or acquire foreign nationality.
Article 10
China citizens who meet one of the following conditions may withdraw from China nationality upon approval:
1. Close relatives of foreigners;
Second, settle abroad;
3. There are other legitimate reasons.
Article 11
If the application for renunciation of China nationality is approved, China nationality will be lost.
Article 12
State functionaries and servicemen are not allowed to renounce China nationality.
Article 13
Foreigners who once held China nationality can apply for the restoration of China nationality with justifiable reasons; Those who have been approved to restore China nationality shall not retain their foreign nationality.
Article 14
The acquisition, loss and restoration of China nationality must go through the application procedures, except as stipulated in Article 9. Persons under the age of 18 may apply on their behalf by their parents or other legal representatives.
Article 15
The organs that accept nationality applications are local municipal and county public security bureaus in China, and China's diplomatic representative offices and consular offices abroad.
Article 16
Applications for joining, quitting and restoring China nationality shall be examined and approved by People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Ministry of Public Security. If approved, the Ministry of Public Security will issue a certificate.
