Baiyin: Baiyin is located in the middle of Gansu Province and the northeast of Lanzhou City. As early as the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, there were factories here to mine and smelt gold and silver. Jingyuan: Jingyuan is located in the central and eastern part of Gansu Province. The place name Jingyuan means that people have settled in remote places. Jingyuan has a long history. From Qin Dynasty, Han Dynasty to Song Dynasty, it was called Zuli, Qiuyin, Huining, Wulan, Baochuan successively. Ming set it as Wei, and Qing changed Jingyuan County. It is still in use today.
Wuwei: Wuwei is located in the east of Hexi Corridor in Gansu Province, upstream of Shiyang River. Wuwei was occupied by the Hungarian mother in the early Western Han Dynasty. Gulang: County name. It is named after Gulang River in China. Build Gulang City in Ming Dynasty, and set Gulang to keep thousands of households. In the third year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1725), Gulang was changed to Gulang County, and the county name is still in use today.
Tianzhu: county name. Named after the initials of the Buddhist temples "Tang Tian Temple" and "Zhu Gong Temple" in the county. Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County was established on 1955 because of its large Tibetan population.
Tianshui: Tianshui is located in the southeast of Gansu Province, the middle reaches of Weihe River and the upper reaches of Jialing River. It is the hub of Shaanxi, Gansu and Sichuan provinces. The origin of Tianshui place names is recorded in the Notes on Water Classics: there is a lake in the north of Luanshui (now water), and a white dragon comes out of the lake, following the wind and rain. According to legend, during the period of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, one day in the southwest of Tianshui City, there was a sudden red light, lightning and thunder, and the sky shook and the ground sank. There was a big crack in the ground, and Tianshui poured in, thus forming a lake. Since then, it is said that the lake is connected with Tianhe, and the locals call it Tianshuijing. Later, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty built a city in Hudi and named it Tianshui. The name of Tianshui County began in the Five Dynasties.
Shimizu: county name. Qingshui County was founded in the second year of Ding Yuan, the Emperor of the Western Han Dynasty (BC 1 15). According to historical records, "there is clear water on its board (which refers to the Gulong board where Qingshui County is located, commonly known as Guanshan), and there are four notes on it", hence the name.
Qin An: County name. Qin 'an was a part of Qin Pavilion in the Western Zhou Dynasty. In the second year of Jin Dynasty (1 157), Qin 'an County was established. The name of Qin 'an means "longing for the tranquility of Guqin Pavilion".
Gangu: County name. Gangu was called Ji Cheng in ancient times, and the county name has been changed many times. According to legend, Gangu County was named Gangu City because the famous Song Yang built a fence city in Chengzi Village in the north of the county to resist Xixia, so it was named Gangu.
Wushan: County name. Wushan was originally named ningyuan county, and 19 14 was renamed Wushan county. Named after Wucheng Mountain in the south of the county seat.
Sol Zhang: County name. In the early years of Taiping and Xingguo in Song Taizong, Zhang Chuan City was built here. Later, Zhang Chuan was named Zhang Chuan. Because Sol Zhang is mostly Hui, Sol Zhang Hui Autonomous Region was established in 1953, and it was changed to Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County in 1955.
Zhang Ye: Zhang Ye's place name comes from "expanding the country and connecting the western regions", which reflects Zhang Ye's position on the ancient Silk Road to some extent. Zhangye was originally the site where the Huns were king, so it was called Yaode. The Han Dynasty changed its name to Zhang Ye, which means to stretch China's arm and be "rich and powerful". The significance of "Dunhuang studies" actually does not refer to the scale of the county governing the city at that time, but symbolizes that the civilization and morality of the Han Dynasty are as prosperous as the sun and the moon.
