The organ that accepts the application for restoration of nationality is the local municipal and county public security bureau in China; China embassies and consulates abroad. The application for restoration of China nationality shall be examined and approved by People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Ministry of Public Security; The Ministry of Public Security authorizes foreign embassies and consulates to examine and approve applications for the restoration of China nationality by foreign Chinese.

Procedures for applying for restoration of China nationality

* Take Guangzhou as an example in the following steps. Please refer to the provincial regulations for details.

Step 1: Go back to your original residence.

To restore China nationality, the person concerned needs to return to his original place of residence.

Step 2: Prepare the application materials.

1 Fill in the Application Form for Restoring People's Republic of China (PRC) Nationality in triplicate; If the applicant is under the age of 18, the signatures of both parents or their legal guardians should be provided (both the inside page and the outside page of the application form should be signed);

4 digital photos of Guangdong entry-exit documents and photo inspection receipt;

7. Certificate of cancellation of the original Guangzhou household registration;

Copy of domestic (Guangzhou) relatives' household registration book and ID card and copy of kinship certificate (original inspection);

★ Precautions
